In 1998 R. Khornik, the chairman of the TACIS (TACIS organization was created by the European Union with the purpose of providing consultancy to Russian companies at the stage of entering the market) expressed the following opinion of Belgian doctors who had tested Russian laryngoscopes manufactured at Mecicon: “If all Medicon products have the same quality as these laryngoscopes this company is a strong competitor to Western manufacturers”.
High quality of Medicon products has been honored with a third-degree certificate which was given to the company’s employees in 1997 by Dmintrieva T.B., the Health Minister of the Russian Federation.
Similar quality feedbacks have been received at numerous exhibitions taken place at different time periods in the cities of Perm, Tyumen, Lipetsk, Kazan, Almaty, Minsk, Moscow, Chelyabinsk and others.

Report on photoelectric portable analyzer PPA-02, manufactured at Medicon
The analyzer PPA-02 produced by Medicon (Miass city) has been experimentally tested at the clinical laboratory of the Chelyabinsk Regional Hospital.
Over 100 clinical tests have been carried out using standards with certain concentration of substances to be defined. By comparing the received results with the results of a similar research on our equipment we came to the conclusion that the analyzer PPA-02 is a convenient and safe device; it is recommended for usage in clinical and biochemical laboratories.
Due to the fact that the diagnostic laboratories in Chelyabinsk Region are not enough equipped with analytical measuring devices, the need of Regional Public Healthcare in analyzer PPA-02 is estimated to be about 120 pieces.

The photoelectric portable analyzer PPA-02 has been tested at biochemical department of Central Scientific-Research Laboratory.
695 clinical tests have been carried out on the following research substances: bilirubin, whole protein, cholesterol, glucose, hemoglobulin, iron, creatinine, whole lipids, magnesium, triglycerides, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, albumin.
The definition of above-mentioned substances has been done using standards, control serum with certain concentration of substances in patients’ blood to be defined. At the same time, similar tests have been carried out using Finnish analyzer FP-901m, electro-photo colorimeter KFK-3.
The comparative analysis of the received results has shown that PPA-02 can be recommended for implementation of biochemical research methods in hospitals.

The photoelectric portable analyzer PPA-02 developed and manufactured at Medicon company, Miass city has been tested at the laboratory of the Ural State Academy of Veterinary Medicine. 492 clinical tests have been carried out on the following research substances: alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, blood glucose, hemoglobulin, calcium, creatinine, whole lipids, serum urea, inorganic phosphor, cholesterol.
The definition of above-mentioned substances has been done using standards with certain concentration of substances to be defined. At the same time, similar tests have been carried out using Finnish analyzer FP-901m, electro-photo colorimeter KFK-3. After evaluating of the comparative analysis the true data have been received (the error is ±0,01).
PPA-02 can be recommended for implementation of biochemical research methods in veterinary hospitals.

PPA-02 has been used in laboratory testing at clinic-diagnostic laboratory (The Hospital of the Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy) from May 19, 2003 till June 17, 2003.
The device is simple, safe and convenient. Both operation modes have been tested: concentration definition (albumin, hemoglobulin), optical density definition (serum iron).
It is easy to calibrate. The device data are stable; it does not need zero correction, the calculation of concentration is quick. It provides necessary result precision and reproducibility. At serum analyses with known data, it gives absolute error, allowed in practice.
Small-size measuring chamber as well as low photo element placement allow measurements even at half-full cuvette, which can reduce the consumption of reagents and tested serum.
Small device size and weight make it possible to install it at any place, use it during preventive examinations outside the hospital.

The laboratory of diagnostic center in Kaminsk-Uralsky (Sverdlovsk Region) has tested the photoelectric portable analyzer PPA-02 at their clinic-diagnostic laboratory for measurements of hemoglobulin concentration in blood using hemoglobulin — cyanide method.
The received hemoglobulin concentration results have been compared with the results received with photo-colorimeter KFK-2 and showed that hemoglobulin concentration values of the same patient were the same. The analyzer is used for measurements of optical density and definition of substance concentration in water solutions using photo-colimetric method.
The analyzer is simple in use, the calibration is easy; it is not necessary to make calibration curves, factor value is introduced into energy depending memory, concentration definition of researched solution after calibration is done fast, without any additional setting. It can be used by paramedical personnel.
The analyzer has been used in order to carry out control tests on definition of hemoglobulin concentration according to the federal system of external quality evaluation of clinical laboratory tests.
The results have been sent to Moscow External Quality Control Center.

Introduction of express photometric method of phosphor mass fraction definition in steel alloys using portable photo-colorimeter type PPA-02 produced by Medicon
The works have been fulfilled at express-section ЭСПЦ-2, 3 ЗМЗ using photometric method of phosphor mass fraction definition, based on reaction of formation of yellow phosphatomolybdic heteropoly acid with its further reconstruction with sulphourea in muriatic media at presence of copper sulphate till the compound, colored blue. The measurement of received colored solution has been made at PPA-02 in cuvette with layer thickness equal to 20 mm and wave length equal to 660 nm. The device had been preliminarily calibrated according to the standard solution, containing 0,040% phosphor.
Accuracy control of the received results has been carried out according to State standards and standard samples of the company (Table 1).
The results of the test measurements have been received in concentration mode and compared with the results received using spectral mode (Table 2).
